Maits Rest fern gully
step into a world of lush tree ferns and ancient Myrtle Beech. It is a world of age and wonder. Maits Rest was named after the districts first forestry officer, Maitland Bryan.



The walkway is 800 meters long, very gentle and easy going and takes about 30 mins to stroll around comfortably

Melba Gully
A true Otway gem, famous for its massive 350 year old Otway messmate and enchanting glow worms, Melba Gully is the most westerly rainforest in southern Australia.



This delightful 1.2km loop 35 minute walk is an adventure into a world of ancient, mossy trees and cool fern gullies

One of the wettest places in the Australia with an annual rainfall of over 2000mm. The gully is a dense rainforest Myrtle Beech, Blackwood and Tree-ferns, with an understorey of low ferns and mosses.
