Te Atatu Peninsula Walkway
This coastal walkway is really an amalgamation of several walkways and includes most of the peninsula coastline. There are panoramic views along the entire walkway, as well as many other points of interest including wetlands, birdlife, historic homes and interesting gardens.What a awesome walkway and stunning views! Te Atatu Peninsula Walkway is such a amazing spot, where you can view all the majoy landmarks of Auckland City at just one glance.
This weekend (26/08/2012) we had a walking at Te Atatu Peninsula Walkway with Jason and Susan family (purple marking - up to Spinnaker Strand). Our tramping group had an extention walking per dot purple walking (up to Chapman Strand).

Shortly we arrived at the first man-made fresh water pond. A sculpture exphibtion has been held in this elegant and beautiful pond area.

The man-made fresh water pond was built to slow down and hold stormwater run-off from roads and suburbs before it enters the sensitive salt mash environment. It helps keep the harbour water clear by allowing muddy run-off water to settle.
