Putangirua Pinnacles Track

The Putangirua Pinnacles are a geological formation and one of New Zealand's best examples of bad lands erosion (惡地形). A large crumbly rock stalagmite type structures rising tens of metres into the air. They are left behind as the surrounding area erodes.
幾百萬年前存在於海底的沉積層 暴露在外 經過雨水流水的沖洗 構成眾多的尖頂的奇特地形

But I still think that it's much more fascinating the scene from the lookout

Cape Palliser
famous for Cape Pallise, shore scenes, and fur seals

Cape Palliser Lighthouse

The lighthouse is notable for the 250 steps
When these steps were first built they were greeted enthusiastically, as they replaced a slippery narrow path up the rock face that was not good for lighthouse keeper.

looking down

The light was built in 1897 and was originally fueled by oil. The cast-iron tower stands 10 metres high and 78 metres above sea level

magnificent views from the lighthouse

easy to see seals

impressed shore scenes

The fur seal colony at Cape Palliser is the North Island's largest

be careful when negotiating the rocks as the seals could be at anywhere!

fascinating and impressed scenes, especially the waves lapping the rocks
