Putangirua Pinnacles Track
The Putangirua Pinnacles are a geological formation and one of New Zealand's best examples of bad lands erosion (惡地形). A large crumbly rock stalagmite type structures rising tens of metres into the air. They are left behind as the surrounding area erodes.

famous for Cape Pallise, shore scenes, and fur seals
Cape Palliser Lighthouse
The lighthouse is notable for the 250 steps
When these steps were first built they were greeted enthusiastically, as they replaced a slippery narrow path up the rock face that was not good for lighthouse keeper.

The light was built in 1897 and was originally fueled by oil. The cast-iron tower stands 10 metres high and 78 metres above sea level

The fur seal colony at Cape Palliser is the North Island's largest
be careful when negotiating the rocks as the seals could be at anywhere!
