Makana Walkway and Wind Farm Loop Walk

We walked Makana Walkway (from Makana beach to Opau Bay) and Wind Farm Loop Walk.

Walking along the coastline

Walking around a small headland - a small bay which is popular with fishermen and divers

going up hill - quite steep and with strong wind

West Wind farm Project

Post Office radio station

This concrete building played a significant role in the history of telecommunications in New Zealand. Four 30 metre tall steel towers supported 54 vee aerials to receive throughout 360 degree

thru the pine forest then going to the downhill track to Opau Bay

Opau Bay
