Te Puia Track

From the end of Makahu Road a track leads up the true right of the Mohaka River to Te Puia Lodge, and also a rest spot on the way to Mangatainoka Hot Springs. We walked up to Te Puia Lodge and returned the same way.

Mangatutu Hot Springs - a popular bathing spot for camping, tramping and family groups. Hot Springs comes out at a perfect temperature for bathing.

Mohaka River - the north island's last remaining wild rivers. It's journey through beech forest, rocky gorges and finally farmland is unimpeded by dams. The fast flowing water is clean and exceptionally clear. Walking most along the Mohaka River.

Te Puia Lodge - a 20 bunk hut which is popular with trampers and hunters, and also a rest spot on the way to the Mangatainoka Hot Springs.
